1. Down load the Data form by saving the whole page to a your hard disk as a text file, say 'myData.txt'. This will eliminate all the HMTL tags associated with a web page. Make as many copies of this file, under different names, as you need eg., if you have data on other people or wish to give copies to other old boys/girls to complete.
2. Complete the form maintaining the general layout shown in the example.
A good word processor to use for this is WINDOWS Notepad as it introduces no formatting characters. Apart from maintaining the individual numbered sections as separate paragraphs, no other formatting is required.
3. Using your normal e-mail program set up the appropriate address as follows:-
For Ex-Varndean Boys E-mail to: franks.inc@fastnet.co.uk
For Ex-Varndean Girls E-mail to: HRHenly@iee.org
or select the appropriate link on the data-form page in which case the mail address will be inserted automatically.
4. For the message Title enter OVA(Boys) Data or OVG(Girls) Data as appropriate.
5. In the message body select insert (or attach) File and select your data file(s). These will then be sent as attachments to your e-mail message. In the body also include a message with your (snail) mail address, telephone number and E-mail address. If you have used some other Word processor such as eg., WORD please note this also, so that appropriate action can be taken at the receiving end.
6. If your e-mail system provides for confirmation of delivery and/or reading you may wish to select this option so that you have some assurance that it arrived intact.
7. Note. As these data files will be quite small and comprise only text it is not necessary to use either UU, MIME or other encoding or compression. This will avoid any problems at the receiving end.
